Love these two. They're such a light in this very turbulent time we're all experiencing. Thank you, Sue and Megan, for advocating for women, as you always do!
I am one of those people who just recently came to the WNBA this past season (Yes I am an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, no I wasn't just a CC fan, I followed Money Martin with the Aces) I am also a queer woman, and have no idea where all these straights have come from that hate on the queer players, they certainly weren't really CC fans as she has always been supportive of her queer teammates. sorry that didn't really have anything to do with why i commented (I'm autistic, sorry) but i came to say that I think the difference between coaching the pros vs college athletes is a lot more nuanced than people think. The women's game in the NCAA has gotten so much attention and gotten so competitive that I think those athletes have a lot more in common with their professional counterparts than on the men's side.
I'm a Megan. Corn all the way. I'm a Texan turned NY'er and Sue, if your corn tortillas are falling apart, you are buying the wrong tortillas or preparing them wrong. You must go to Sunset Park in Brooklyn and find some good tortillas. Corn tortillas are versatile. They can be made into taco shells, tostadas, huaraches, tortilla chips, enchiladas, migas, tortilla soup, etc. They taste better. Flour tortillas are specific - only good for burritos and fajitas in my book. Also, I love the show! (and loved seeing Megan on the Women's Game USWNT recap show live the other night! Loved learning so much about strategy!)
I VOTED BLUE across the board! Donating every week! Visualizing Harris in the WH every day! This last part works to help with ANXIETY! Let’s manifest what we want 😍
great interview with First Gentelman, Doug Emhoff I always love what he has to say. Thank you Sue and Megan for always bringing the important issue to the forefront. Corn tortillas all day for me in a taco.
I could listen to Doug talk about his love for VP Harris, his kids, and the life he has stepped into wholeheartedly all day. I am so proud to cheer for this very modern, very American, soon-to-be First Family. Great conversation!
I’m a Megan, LOL But hey, Sue always gives a vibe that, like, don’t you argue with me. Sometimes she’s very bossy to me, in a good way 😊😊 Love you ladies ❤❤
You all have prob already had these corn tortillas in NYC, but Tortilleria Mexicans los Hermanos in Brooklyn, amazing. Or rosie’s and cosme’s are real good too.
Also, a world where one day women such as Rebecca lobo, swoopers, sue, cp3, DT, Lisa Leslie, TSpoon, Becky Hammon, dawn staley, maya moore etc were all coaching against or with one another…how incredible that would be if that ever happened. lol
That will never happen with a lot of them (Leslie, Lobo, Candace, Maya, DT have shown no interest in coaching and Sue hasn't really...She never says never, but she's said on occasion it's not something she's interested in, but, who knows. But those others mentioned...It doesn't seem to be what they're into). And it would take a lot to pry Dawn from SC....ESPECIALLY given how quickly WNBA coaches are getting axed now. There's basically nothing she could do to be fired from SC....Also, Sheryl Swoopes tried coaching and was terrible, so, there's also that.
I have a question. Do you think men should be allowed leave to support their postpartum wives and newborns and get paid for it? Fair is fair. Sue, I just want to say that the WNBA could use someone to coach who is a great point guard and has a well-rounded understanding of the game between offense and defense. Throw your hat into the ring. I'd like to see Diana Taurasi throw her hat into that ring, as well. I know being a great player doesn't equate to being a great coach but why not try for the experience? I'm a Sue with flour.
In Canada, employment insurance provides for 17 weeks that are only for the mother (post-partum concerns, physical stuff, breastfeeding) and 35 weeks that can be split between the parents anyway they choose, and can be take consecutively or concurrently.
Paternity leave is pretty commonplace in many countries to be honest. It's not some radical thing sitting there to be hijacked to make a somewhat forced point about sexism. I'm in the UK and paid paternity leave is available for two weeks or as a couple you can split the overall pot of parental leave between you (50 weeks of leave, 37 paid). This kind of thing is totally normal here. In Sweden it's a similar story with 480 days that can be shared between you and almost all men take parental leave. Loads more countries do the same. It's the US that's very backward for a so-called democracy in that regard.
The biggest problem is for centuries many people got the job not entirely because of qualifications but because they're cishet white men. DEI simply tries to reverses that by a fraction. Like, the main and probably only reason Tim Walz got the job over Pete Buttigieg is basically because Tim is cishet (I love Tim though, nothing against him). This is just one of countless examples that the privileged demographics that get hired only because of their identity is actually cishet white men, not the other way around. As I said, DEI is to reverse that and it's funny the privileged group now try to play victim.
@@est9949 Maybe he did but there isn't a policy in place that says he should get that and putting a policy in place that says he shouldn't is just as wrong. equal opportunity is great. equitable outcomes is bullshit.
You're missing the big picture. For centuries the laws and policies say that women cannot be hired in most of the professions, own properties, enter schools and universities, or even vote. The same goes for black people. For gy and trs people, the law has been saying that they cannot even exist in public legally. And some of these laws last until not so long ago. Women are allowed to vote and have jobs only in the last 100 years. Stonewall riots was only about 50 years ago. You saying that these people who have been oppressed for hundreds and hundreds of years are going to become privileged by just DEI is out of touch of the reality.
I don't respect Diana after what she did with the Japanese player during the game because of her height. You know that Asian people get that ALL THE TIME because we are shorter. It's quite sickening that it happens during the game, brings back so much trauma when I visited the US. And this is just my opinion based on my personal life experience that have to go through this again and again. I understand it might be hard to understand if you never been in this situation in your life.
It really is. All their relatives are asking for them to be released. I believe that they were abused - and then again by that opportunistic therapist. It is all really sad.
In regards to the trans question and participation in sport, I just wonder how you go about making it fairish? I love my trans brothers and sisters and I want them to be able to play any sport they want. How do I argue this and paint the picture to others so they see it could be fair?
Many of these coaching decisions make little to no sense to me...Sides inherited a team that went 5-29 in 2022 and got them to 13 wins in 2023 and then 20 wins in 2024 and the team's first playoff appearance in 8 years. Miller had very little talent in LA this year, and one of his best players got hurt 1/3 of the way through. Maybe there was behind the scenes stuff with TSpoon, but the Sky basically started a rebuild when they traded their best player before the season, and then traded their next best player at the deadline. Yes, they struggled down the stretch, but, Angel gets hurt and again, there wasn't much talent on that roster...Them firing her after she'd been there for ten minutes is odd. I can understand Atlanta parting with Sue's old Teammate Tanisha Wright, as they underachieved (Even though they did have some injuries), and the Wings moving on from their coach, as they were terrible this year, after being one of four teams with a winning record in 2023...But again, Satou Sabally missed over half the season...Hard to win without arguably your best player.
The Caitlin Clark tsunami is wreaking havoc across the whole of the WNBA in every way. Every franchise knows they have to up their game now to keep pace with the fans expectations.
Sue Bird soft-launching her future career as a WNBA coach 😉
😅😅😅 vacancies opened up left right center

Thanks for this interview with the soon-to-be First Gentleman, Doug Emhoff🇺🇸👏🏽 Love the manicure Megan and I hope you feel better soon lady🙏🏾
Trump2024!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💯
Trump for prison 2024! Get the rapist out of here please.
Great interview with Doug! Also, I voted early in Tennessee. I'm a little blue dot in a sea of red. 💙💙 I'm a Sue - flour.
Me too
1.) Coach Bird I will hard root for whatever team you lead 🙌🏼
2.) corn. CORN. Flour is a diaper, corn is a vehicle.
Love the L’Oréal Women of Worth Honourees. I do not skip through these as they are such amazing, unique, and inspiring stories.
You two angels need to take this podcast on the road... 🏨 😉🌃
High quality handmade corn tortillas > flour tortillas > mass produced corn tortillas

Love this! One of my favorite episodes. Well done!
"Ya get up here and ya blurt!"...great chant. Luved it.
I am in Texas and I did vote for her already.
I could listen to Doug talk about his love for VP Harris, his kids, and the life he has stepped into wholeheartedly all day. I am so proud to cheer for this very modern, very American, soon-to-be First Family. Great conversation!

Great episode !
great show. Thanks! :)
I’m a Megan, LOL
But hey, Sue always gives a vibe that, like, don’t you argue with me. Sometimes she’s very bossy to me, in a good way 😊😊
Love you ladies ❤❤
As a Canadian, can you bring on Christine Sinclair. She might have some free time now… 😉
I don’t mind corn for street tacos, but flour for breakfast and fish/shrimp tacos.
Truth.
I'm a Megan all the way
I think I’m both. I like corn and flour tortillas for different situations.
Doug is so sweet. ❤
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
I am mexican so... ALWAYSSSS CORN TORTILLA, thats how it is supoosed to be
Corn tortillas for tacos, and flour for everything else.

@ oh for sure. I def don’t think any of this would ACTUALLY happen lol just fun to think about.

I'm a flour person. But I sadly have celiac, so I'm glad Sue can enjoy them on my behalf LOL
I LIVE for Wednesdays!!!
This isn't even a debate. A flour tortilla taco is a BURRITO! Not a taco
But if the question is do you prefer tacos (corn tortilla) or burritos (flour tortilla)... TACOS!
Finally something I can weigh in on the answer is both corn and flour. It depends on the food you are eating.
I eat both, but I'm slightly Megan if it's fresh corn shell. If it's stale, Sue all the way.
CORN!!!! Love you though Sue

You do realize that paid paternity leave is a Democrat-led initiative, right?
DEI does not stand for equality of opportunity. It stands for equitable outcomes and that's the biggest problem with it.
Well it's not true, so....
@@Ashlyn-p1r it is true.

y’all should watch the Menendez brothers’s doc after the Monster. It’s just a sad story.
It really is. All their relatives are asking for them to be released. I believe that they were abused - and then again by that opportunistic therapist. It is all really sad.
Seems some coaches had to deal with many issues re injuries that would be challenging. DC, LA, Dallas
Seems like a stressful job….

Les sous-titres 😭😫
Flour > corn but I recognize that’s the bland/basic b take
Maíz! 🌽
Get Megan a dog!

diana taurasi should coach the LA sparks 👀✨💜
College coaches get paid a lot more than in the W.
They do...(Well, at least at the highest level they do)...That may change in the coming years though.
Hair now blonde in honor of President Trump? That reminds me, I gotta go vote for him! Thanks for your help!!! 😁
Trump has yellow wig, not blonde hair.
With all this name power, you still can't get more views than some rando filming in their basement.
The Caitlin Clark tsunami is wreaking havoc across the whole of the WNBA in every way. Every franchise knows they have to up their game now to keep pace with the fans expectations.
Trump2024
My whole family, including all the registered Dems, voted for Trump. Enough is enough. We are all tired of the woke agenda.
Cute lie 😂
You don't have to be here . Cult
